What it is
Remote Control turns the web and mobile apps into a window onto a session running on your own machine. Your filesystem, MCP servers, tools and project configuration stay available; messages from terminal, browser and phone stay in sync; you can attach photos and files from your phone. Unlike cloud sessions, nothing runs on Anthropic's infrastructure. The official docs note that if your laptop sleeps or your network drops, Claude Code reconnects when the machine is back online, meaning the task waits in between.
How to start it
Server mode shows a URL and, with the spacebar, a QR code for your phone:

Plans and sign-in
- Available on Pro, Max, Ultra, Team and Enterprise subscriptions; API keys are not supported.
- On Team and Enterprise an Owner must enable Remote Control in the Claude Code admin settings.
- Sign in first with claude and /login; without an eligible login, claude remote-control exits with an error.

Which plans include Remote Control?

Does the code run on my phone?
No. Execution and file access stay on the machine where Remote Control was started; the phone and browser are only the interface.
What happens when the host laptop sleeps?
The session disconnects and reconnects when the machine is back online; the task does not progress in between. To keep tasks running, host the session on an always-on machine such as a dedicated Mac mini.
